Background in composition

Beginning with FL Studio 5 in 2005, I've been composing synthesized music with a variety of DAWs (Reason, Studio One, Pro Tools, etc.) for more than half of my life. I started by arranging cover versions of video game tunes that caught my ear, then began writing my own melodies every once in a while.

During my time at Wayne State Univerity, I took several composition-focused classes including Intermediate Composition, Interactive Electronic Music Composition, and Electronic Music Synthesis. As my Music Honors thesis, I wrote an original six-track EP using Ableton Live 9 Suite; the catch was that I had no prior experience with Ableton, and the semester time limit pushed me to explore its nooks and crannies.

Most of the material I write may never see the light of day, but I occasionally post older tracks, WIPs, and various audio goofs on my SoundCloud.

I've also written a handful of original piano pieces for competitions and recital performances.

Background in audio editing

I took dance lessons for 15 years. When songs were chosen for recital performances, they were often too long or too short—that's where my uncle came in. His job was to edit each of these songs to better suit the needs of the choreographers. Over the years, I did a few smaller edits, but in 2014 (my senior year at the studio), I was asked by my uncle and by the studio to edit the entire upcoming recital. It was quite an undertaking, but my uncle's guidance allowed me to tackle unfamiliar techniques and jumpstart my professional editing work. Since then, I have continued editing audio for dance recitals, college auditions, and promotional videos.

I pride myself in creating edits without distractingly abrupt cuts or jumps—perfectionism is both a blessing and a curse.
